Key Responsibilities and Staffing Focus
- Evaluate patients and develop diagnoses and treatment plans within the physician's specialty, licensure, and privileges.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
- Coordinate care with nurses, advanced practice clinicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records.
- Communicate treatment options clearly and follow professional, safety, privacy, and ethical standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Current medical license in the state of practice, subject to employer credentialing standards.
- Board certification or eligibility and specialty training when required.
- Controlled-substance registration and life-support credentials when applicable.
- Successful credentialing, privileging, background checks, and facility-specific requirements.
